Bookshop Description (Est. 2021)

Afrori Books is Sussex's only bookshop that specialises in books by black authors. With every genre available, this is the place to come to diversify your bookshelf. Founded by Carolynn Bain (a bookseller rising star 2022, Bookseller of the year 2023). Working with her daughters Oliviyah and Ysabel the bookshop is a family run business that aims to amplify black voices in the city and the nation.

The multi-award winning bookshop in the heart of Brighton, has become a central point for events and some of the best authors in publishing.
Afrori craft mornings run every Saturday throughout the year and they have a varied selection of book clubs including their extremely popular Supper Club where a small group of guests enjoy a two course Caribbean meal with a best selling author.

Afrori Books is the co founder of Brighton Book Festival, a five day festival that takes place in June each year
