Bookshop Description (Est. 2012)

Jacqson Diego Story Emporium is an award winning independent children's bookshop filled with books, stories and oodles of imagination, creativity and wonder for young people from birth to 16 years. Our space brings together everything we do to inspire children and young people through books and stories on their own terms from story-times to book clubs and projects with the community and beyond. Our bookclubs are currently operating remotely and virtually due to the pandemic, which means anyone can join us, wherever you are!

As Westcliff's only independent bookshop, our shelves of fiction and non-fiction, picture book and chapter, are perfect for a browse, and our staff are experts on matching children with the right book and offering specialist advice. We receive new stock daily and - as we can't fit everything we wish for on our shelves - we can order in any book that is in print for both children and adults alike.

During the session we explore the book through games, activities and discussion. Each month there is a choice of book, one with an interest age of 7 - 9 and the other with an interest age of 9+. We encourage the children to choose books based on interest age rather than ability as we find they get more out of the activities this way.
